Gloomhaven Circles progression

Yesterday(!) on Productivity Thursdays, I had a lengthy night with the unlockable Circles miniature from the Gloomhaven Boardgame.  In the spirit of my “My Painting Process” post earlier, I took many pictures through the night.  It ended up with me not having time for my normal “professional” lightbox shots, so those will come later.  I will split the spoilers into two groups. If you just want to see the final results then click the second spoiler.

Lazy base coat in all purple

Adding a second color, normally I don’t do highlighting before a wash, and it turned out to be a waste of time this time, so big surprise.

Single layer of white over skin.  The pinkish still shows through, because a single layer of white is not enough for coverage.  I wanted to see what it would look like after a wash.

Added third color (purple-brown), and post-wash, still drying

Manually repainting skin tones

No more in-progress pictures, but it’s the starter steps that matter.  I added a metallic silver to her bands, and dagger, and a orange brown for the raised bit of ground, and blacked out the base.
I then highlit raised edges manually with the base purple I started with, and then went over them with a slightly lighter purple and thinner lines.

Here is my palette around the end of the night:

Gloomhaven Circles near-final

I made the hand blue, in the original art she’s thrusting her hand into a portal.  There’s a little triangle rune-like design I added to her hand.  I added light blue highlights on edges facing towards her hand, and also edges facing towards the tip of her staff.  This first pic isn’t taken well, poor-quality screens really blow it out.

Okay, here’s the final, final pics, the next day:
